More awesome than a monkey wearing a tuxedo made out of bacon riding a cyborg unicorn with a lightsaber for the horn on the tip of a space shuttle closing in on Mars, while ingulfed in flames.

An Austin legend is dead today.  I’ll never forget how tolerant he was of me on my 21st birthday.

I am an abstract artist, a concrete analyst, and a ruthless bookie. Critics worldwide swoon over my original line of corduroy evening wear. I don’t perspire. I am a private citizen, yet I receive fan mail. I have been caller number nine and have won the weekend passes. Last summer I toured New Jersey with a traveling centrifugal-force demonstration. I bat 400. My deft floral arrangements have earned me fame in international botany circles. Children trust me

My Day at the SF Zoo.

I went to my volunteer orientation at the SF Zoo today.  I signed up to work in the “Farm” area aka petting zoo.  I am super excited because:

1. The work I get to do reminds me of my first non-babysitting job cleaning horse stalls, which was THE BEST work for a 12 year old in a pony phase (correction: the pony stage)

2. Everyone seems super nice (including the animals)

3. I MIGHT GET TO WORK WITH EFIN’ PENGUINS!!! They don’t trust just anyone to volunteer with the penguins, so they’ll usually ask established volunteers when they need help with the exhibit.  AND every spring, they need someone to be with the babies at all times so they can learn to take food from humans!!!! Me please.
